Welcome to Star, Idaho! Star is located at 43°41'39" North, 116°29'25" West (43.694084, -116.490225)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 km² (0.9 mi²). 2.2 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. As of 2000, there were 1,795 people, 631 households, and 485 families residing in the city. In the city the population was spread out with 33.2% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 36.4% from 25 to 44, 14.8% from 45 to 64, and 5.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 28 years. For every 100 females there were 97.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males. The median income for a household in the city was $42,337, and the median income for a family was $46,458. Males had a median income of $31,028 versus $22,625 for females.
